Massachusetts Statewide Partners

SC@N 360 has implemented links with five State Grant Partners, each of which were previously instrumental in the writing of the grant proposal and ensuring the development of the project from a deep-rooted belief to a reality, and which presently continue to work on the maintenance and future sustainability of the Center. All State Partner Agencies continue to be actively engaged with the Project through regular Partner meetings, involvement on the Steering and Sustainability Committees, and donations of time and service to the Center and our families.

	Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services DDS is an independent state agency within the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) providing a wide range of services and supports to Massachusetts’ citizens with mental retardation and their families. While providing some direct services such as community living, day/employment, transportation, recreation, and service coordination, DDS provides the majority of its services through an extensive network of community providers throughout the state. In 2004 DDS received a five-year federal grant to develop a One Stop Family Center and Network in Springfield, Massachusetts which resulted in the creation of SC@N360. DDS remains committed to supporting the needs of persons with disabilities and their families and recognizes the unique opportunities within SC@N360 to support people from various cultural, linguistic and socioeconomic backgrounds. 	Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council MDDC provides opportunities for people with developmental disabilities and their families to enhance independence, productivity, and inclusion. MDDC believes the greatest impact on public policy occurs through self-advocacy, supported by the development and maintenance of strong coalitions. We work to bring people with developmental disabilities and their families together with policy makers to advocate on their own behalf. The Council fosters and supports coalitions with other advocacy and community groups, and supports close working relationships among and between the various public and private service providers. 	Institute for Community Inclusion/UMASS Boston ICI, a project also funded by the Administration on Developmental Disabilities at UMASS Boston, supports the rights of children with disabilities to participate in all aspects of the community. ICI provides assistance to organizations and a variety of other projects including: local, state, and national agencies; schools; colleges; rehabilitation providers; and multicultural organizations, to promote inclusion in school, work, and community activities. 	New England INDEX/UMASS Medical School Index, a project of UMASS Medical School at the Shriver Center, is an information and referral service for people with disabilities. Coordinator of the Massachusetts Network of Information Providers, a comprehensive collection of up-to-date disability agencies that coordinate information and referral efforts, Index provides available information through a Resource Database and a Health Provider Registry, open to consultants, physicians, and dentists with experience serving people with disabilities. 	Massachusetts Families Organizing for Change MFOFC is a statewide, grassroots membership organization comprised of people with disabilities and their families, allies and supporters. Our purpose is to engage in a wide array of activities designed to promote responsive, high quality, flexible and individualized community supports and services that are family or person centered. We are actively organizing families and individuals to use the power of our numbers to effect positive change. Through the provision of Family Leadership Training, technical assistance to state systems, alliances with other disability organizations and targeted legislative advocacy, our objective is to lead in the ongoing process of positive systems change for people with disabilities and their families.
